Our CEO, Scott Wood, was a featured speaker at a recent Private Exchange Forum in Dallas, TX, presented by The Institute for HealthCare Consumerism.
He pointed out that there is significant confusion around private exchanges and no empirical data that they reduce total costs, which is the real problem for employers. Cost shifting is not reducing costs. The best way to reduce healthcare costs is by improving health and helping employees be better healthcare consumers – and that takes a strategic plan.
Scott recommends that employers develop with their benefits consultant both short-term and long-term strategies to meet their own objectives and that align with the goals and culture of their organization.
