We are excited to announce that our firm has received the honor of being named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in America–again.
We have the special distinction of receiving this honor and recognition for the 4th year in a row. That is an accomplishment that only one in six of the Inc. 5000 listed companies has achieved, according to Inc. Media.
An Honor to Be on the List
“We are honored that our team has achieved ranking on this very competitive listing for our fourth year in a row,” said Scott Wood, Principal and CEO of Benefit Commerce Group. “We are passionate about innovation and bringing effective new employee benefit programs to our clients. This honor is a testament to the success we have brought to our clients, as we continue to change the health care cost paradigm, one company at a time, and as we make life easier and better for HR teams.
“We are quite proud of our entire team, their outstanding efforts, our business partners and our amazing clients that continue to be employers of choice with their quality benefit programs,” Wood added.
How Growth Is Measured for Inc. 5000 List
The reason that Inc. 5000 is such a sought-after honor is that it measures a company’s revenue growth over a three-year period. For the 2018 listing, the measurement is for percentage revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. Companies that are listed on the Inc. 5000 far exceed the average growth rate of most companies in America.
In fact, here’s part of what Inc. Media Editor in Chief, James Ledbetter, wrote in announcing the rankings:
The list is “an in-depth look at the performance of America’s top private companies. And the growth we document and celebrate is nothing short of breathtaking….no company on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list has grown by less than 50 percent over the past three years.”
“The mostly newish and fast-growing businesses on these lists are the true job creators: Only about 12 percent of American companies achieve one-year revenue growth of 25 percent or more. Yet those are the companies that are responsible for half of all jobs created,” he added.
The 2018 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2014 to 2017. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2014. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2017.
